Pinterest inspiration

I am LOVING Pinterest!  There are tons of great DIY projects that are so easy to make.   My first inspiration was taken from all the vinyl that is being used for labeling anything from mason jars to plastic boxes.  For this DIY project I used chalkboard Contact paper on a mason jar I already had. I got the chalkboard from a flea market and put it in a plate stand.  I love to change the message for dinner.

The next project was making hurricane candle holders for $2 a piece!
It was done using taper candle holders and cylinder vases from...
The DOLLAR TREE!
I used Gorilla glue to adhere the cylinder to the candle holder.  I'm still debating what I should put in them, but for now they are on the window ledge above the kitchen sink with some random balls I had.

I love these!! You are so good at this DIY stuff... maybe I'll take a day away from my classroom this weekend and try the book wreath.

PS - Where did you find chalkboard paper???

The chalkboard paper is adhesive CONTACT paper. I can't remember where I got it, but it is online for about $8 a roll. I'm thinking of how I can use it in my 3rd grade classroom.

Check out the youtube step by step directions for the book wreath by searching for "book wreath tutorial" by living with lindsay. I added a step of stapling the papers before gluing them. I stapled a bunch while watching a show then another day got out the glue gun to make the wreath. The more pages you use the fuller the wreath. Good luck!

Absolutely love how your projects turned out! Also, just wanted to let you know, I accidentally had two "followers" gadgets on my blog and I had to delete one. I see that you still have my blog listed, but I'm afraid you are not showing up as a follower. I am so sorry, but I am just getting the hang of this blogging stuff. My blog sight is A Series of 3rd Grade Events. I would love it if you could rejoin as a follower :)
