Joke Teller

Do your students laugh at silly jokes?
In our classroom one of the jobs is joke teller.  During morning meeting the joke teller shares two jokes with the class.   It is great for students to speak in front of each other and we all enjoy giggling together.

Did you hear about the cross-eyed teacher?

She couldn't control her pupils!

I really love and appreciate your idea for the joke teller job. Such a motivating way to build a love for the wit of language and words and to enhance their sense of humor and public speaking skills too. Fantastic idea! One year when I taught kindergarten I had a group who loved to sit in a circle during quiet/DEAR time and tell "ghost stories". Lots of retelling practice!
